Jamie is accepting new clients for individual therapy!
I’m Jamie Wall (she/her) and I’m glad you’re here! Below you’ll read about my therapeutic focuses. I practice person centered talk therapy, meaning I engage with each client as an expert in their own experience. I will ask you about what has worked for you or helped you in the past and work with you to create a plan that fits what you need.
Exploration of Gender Identity
Exploring your gender identity can be a scary and overwhelming process. If you are thinking about transitioning, are questioning your gender identity, or are early in transition, you don’t have to do it alone. Having done this kind of therapeutic work myself and through working with gender diverse clients, I know firsthand how beneficial a therapeutic space can be. There is so much value in having a safe, containing space, with constancy between you and the person you’re speaking to. I am a woman of trans experience, which informs my practice with queer and trans people.
Managing Relationships with a Mood Disorder
Relationships are hard for everyone, but living with a mood disorder can create additional challenges. Dealing with intense thoughts, feelings and moods can cause strain in our relationships and make it difficult to see the value in ourselves. Working to identify early signs of mood shifts and making strategies to regulate ourselves can make a world of difference in keeping all of our relationships in a healthy place. In practice with me, you can expect to find a safe space to work through these hurdles and all of the complexities of human connection, be it with others or ourselves.
Anxiety
From school work, job responsibilities to making friends, to learning how to drive, sometimes the pile up can turn into an avalanche. Anxiety is a very normal response to the world we live in, but if you’re finding it getting in the way of functioning day to day, this is where seeking out therapy can be helpful. I work with people who suffer from panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder. In our practice we’ll work together to make sure that you have the tools to deal with life’s challenges in a calm and supportive environment.
About Me:
I love connecting with clients within the therapeutic relationship and using our time together to come up with solutions and coping strategies. Therapy is a unique experience where the time we have is entirely dedicated to self care. I love to see all of the possibilities when folks show up for themselves and do the difficult work to improve their lives.
Outside of therapy, I love being around trees and nature. I am a lifelong musician and spend most of my free time composing and making music. I have two cats who I love dearly.
