Relationship Therapy
Whether you are needing a tune-up for connection with a loved one, wanting to explore helping a partner recover through a significant trauma, or have found yourself caught in repetitive arguments, relationship therapy can help give you a space to process your feelings and thoughts together.
There is no escaping conflict in life - even in otherwise happy relationships. Sometimes we feel the urge to run from conflict or pain, but it often feels overwhelming to hold it all inside. Other times we might become so overwhelmed by our feelings that we push too hard to resolve it too quickly when the other person is not ready to engage.
Everyone handles conflict differently based on the styles of our attachment drive - the reflexes that come out when we’re sensing that we are in danger and must either approach or avoid at all cost. While this is a fundamental part of the human experience, it can feel lonely, scary, or isolating to be stuck in that place.
At Out of the Woods Therapy, we believe that when relationships reach the point of conflict, it is necessary to do a repair in order to restore connection.
In relationship therapy, you will have the opportunity to explore empathy and accountability and create a pathway towards healing conflict. Each therapist in our practice will have a different approach based on their individual personality and training background. One thing that is true for all of us at Out of the Woods Therapy is that we agree that there is not one right way to do a relationship.
Relationship Therapy at Out of the Woods Therapy includes couples counseling for all sorts of relationship dynamics - whether you are monogamously attached or ethically non-monogamously attached, we are here to support the relationships that matter to you most.
